About Pete
Peter T. Delmer, Jr. “Pete” was raised to race. He enjoyed his formative years working at his father’s auto repair shop surrounded by a family actively involved in racing and began drag racing himself at an early age.
Pete launched his professional career in the late 1980s working at the Sewickley Car Store (i.e., Porsche, BMW, Audi) as a technician wherein he demonstrated a keen understanding and talent for European cars, particularly Porsche.
Shortly thereafter, Pete began his factory Porsche training and became a Porsche Master Technician by the mid 90’s. At the same time, Pete expanded his knowledgebase and participated in the High-Performance Drivers Education program through the Porsche Club of America (“PCA”). Pete simultaneously began racing sprint cars with great success.
In 2000, Pete began splitting his time between working for several independent European repair shops and various Porsche dealerships, which would continue over the next seven years.
By 2001, Pete had become a PCA National Instructor, and he obtained his SCCA Competition Racing License in 2003. By 2007, Pete had won many races thereby consummating a successful racing career. Pete’s experience working with independent shops would pay dividends and proved to be an important steppingstone to opening his own European performance repair and race shop.
In 2007, Pete officially opened Pete’s European Techniques where his combined experience in racing and mechanical repair of European automobiles provided a great platform for success. Pete remains an active instructor in the PCA to this day as well as an avid racer of vintage and CHAMP endurance automobiles. This experience has correlated well to Pete’s customers, many of whom are racers and racing enthusiasts themselves.
Pete’s European Techniques is synonymous with craftsmanship, integrity, and quality. More importantly, Pete’s personal and professional investment in his customer’s needs cannot be overstated. Pete’s European Techniques has built a strong and recognized reputation since its inception in 2007 for building high quality race performance engines, performance suspension tuning, and building and maintaining reliable, safe, and fast performance automobiles.
Pete is perhaps best known for his strict attention to detail and getting the job done right the first time.
At Pete’s European, you will NEVER hear the phrase “that’s good enough” because “that’s good enough” simply is not good enough for Pete. It never has been, and IT NEVER WILL BE!!!
